Andreas Eder

Andreas Eder runs the estate in the fourth generation, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern quality awareness. His father, Leopold Eder, shaped the winery with his deep love for nature – a passion that can still be felt in every bottle today.

Patience plays a central role: The grapes are carefully hand-harvested, often well into late autumn, to fully develop their aromas. This gentle approach continues in the cellar, where slow maturation results in wines with depth, elegance, and character. The focus is particularly on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling from premium Wachau vineyards such as Süssenberg and Silberbichl.

In addition, the Eder family runs the Propstei Winery under the leadership of Claudia Eder. Here, historic walls meet modern winemaking – with a focus on fine sparkling wines and the traditional Grüner Veltliner altar wine, as the winery is an officially certified producer of sacramental wine.

The winery's outstanding quality and dedication were recognized in 2024 with the Austrian Wine Producer Trophy at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London. This prestigious award confirms the winery’s excellence and underscores its exceptional reputation in the international wine world.

Whether classic and full of character, sparkling and elegant, both wineries embody authenticity, the unique signature of the region, and a deep connection to the terroir.
